Angle

Unit of measurement

Pupils should be taught to know that angles are measured in degrees and that one whole turn is 360 degrees; recognise right angles, perpendicular and parallel lines; recognise angles as greater or less than a right angle or half-turn, estimate their size and order them; recognise that angles at a point total 360 degrees and that angles at a point on a straight line total 180 degrees; know that the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees; measure and draw acute, obtuse and right angles to the nearest degree.
