Introduction

Firstly let us look at how the use of the technology can replace existing teaching approaches by transforming teaching and accelerating progress in children’s learning. Hooper and Rieber (1995) describe five different levels of adoption of technology in the classroom.

These phases include familiarisation, utilisation, integration, reorientation, and evolution. We can use these levels to consider progression in teacher practice with whiteboard technology. Where would you consider yourself on the scale?
